Tips on how to take Care of Your Watch

When purchasing a watch, you want to take extra caution as to where and what you would do when wearing the watch to keep it looking it’s best and also how to keep your watch in good condition.

I will use my dad as an example.  I brought him this nice watch that he actually picked out for himself for father’s day.  I told him dad I understand that you like your watch, but there are just some things that you don’t do.  Only wear your watch where it is appropriate to wear it.

If you are a construction worker, like my dad was don’t wear the watch when you are out working on the house or outside mixing concrete.

Other instances where you should not be wearing your watch is if you are a advid rock climber and you like to climb mountains, don’t wear your nice watch.  Watches look good and even some of them look rugged, but they are not indestructable.

It is also never a good idea to leave your watch in direct sunlight, because doing so can overheat your watch and you can damage it this way and cause your watch to malfunction. Your watch can also be damaged if you decide to expose your watch to extreme heat and then put your watch into cold water can also affect your watch so be careful.

It is also a good idea if you decide to clean your watch not to expose it to harsh chemicals. Some watches are waterproof and it would be a good idea just to rinse your watch off and wipe it with a damp cloth to remove any residue on it.

If your watch stops and the battery is no longer good or if the glass on your watch fogs up, take your watch to a professional watch repair agent to avoid any further damage to your watch.

Don’t forget to also keep your watch serviced from time to time to keep it running smoothly and to keep it in good shape.

You also want to wind your watch as needed in order to keep it functioning properly and also be careful not to overwind it.  You also should keep your watch in a nice storage case to perserve it.

If you take care of your watch and take and take pride in taking care of it, it will give you years of service and satisfaction.
